5k-Mile 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition for sale on BaT Auctions – ending January 31 (Lot #178,967)

This 2006 Ford GT is one of 343 Heritage Edition examples produced and is finished in Heritage Blue and Epic Orange over Ebony leather and was factory-optioned with forged aluminum BBS wheels and a McIntosh stereo system. It spent time in Texas, Florida, and Illinois before the seller’s 2014 purchase, and they have since added approximately 3,500 of the 5k indicated miles. It is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 linked with a six-speed manual gearbox and a helical limited-slip differential, and the seller states that a Ford Racing exhaust system was installed in place of the factory components under prior ownership. This Heritage Edition GT is now offered in California with a Ford Motor Company certificate of authenticity, service records, a car cover in a Ford carry bag, a battery tender, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The GT took inspiration from the GT40 racing cars of the 1960s and features an extruded-aluminum space frame, roll-bonded floors, and aluminum body panels. The Heritage Edition included a Gulf-inspired blue and orange livery similar to that worn by the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans-winning GT40 as well as HID headlights representing the number “100” in recognition of Ford Motor Company’s 100th Anniversary. Additional equipment includes Ford GT graphics, fog lights, side air intakes, a vented hood, a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and a dual center-exit exhaust system. Clear paint protection film was applied to the front, lower rocker panels, and rear of the car under prior ownership.

Factory-optional BBS forged lightweight aluminum wheels measure 18” up front and 19” out back and were wrapped with a mix of Goodyear Eagle F1 tires measuring 235/45 and 315/40 in March 2021. The Brembo braking system features four-piston monoblock calipers with cross-drilled and ventilated rotors that measure 14” up front and 13.2” out back.

The cockpit is trimmed in Ebony leather, and rubber mats cover bare aluminum floors. Manually adjusted seats were designed by Sparco and feature carbon-fiber shells with GT40-style ventilation grommets and harness slots. The console on the center tunnel houses rotary climate controls, and amenities include a McIntosh CD stereo, remote keyless entry, and push-button ignition. The airbag inflators were replaced in July 2019 and the air-conditioning system compressor was replaced in November 2021.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel is affixed to a tilting and telescoping column ahead of the GT40-inspired instrument array consisting of a central tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline and an offset 220-mph speedometer. Toggle-switch controls are positioned under additional gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, boost, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 5k miles, approximately 3,500 of which were added under current ownership.
