Eric Dane Reveals ALS Diagnosis

Actor Eric Dane has revealed that he’s been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

In a statement issued to People, Dane said, “I have been diagnosed with ALS. I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”

Dane also expressed that he feels “fortunate” to be able to continue working at this time. He said he’s “looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week,” before concluding, “I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”

ALS is a rare degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spine, resulting in patients losing their ability to move, speak, and breath independently. According to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, most people die within three to five years of a diagnosis, but some individuals live for 20 years or more.

The third season of Euphoria is set to begin production on April 14th, and has been highly-anticipated since the second season concluded in 2022. Earlier this year, Consequence named it one of the most anticipated TV shows of 2025.
